A bizarre quirk of physics which causes an object in one universe to be transported to another. The Effect occurs due to microscopic wormholes opening and closing. Most socks, keys, and other small things are the only objects to disappear. However, people, such has Amelia Earhart, D.B. Cooper, Jimmy Hoffa, and Elvis were all victims of the Effect.
